Broadband Binary Amplitude Diffusion Wall

Currently in the prototyping stage, this design is a modular acoustic panel installation that boasts acoustic diffusion & absorption for large spaces down to 200Hz. This is achievable through a 3 dimensional wave pattern across the wall which varies in depth and size of each undulation to produce random angles of incidence of sound interacting with the wall. The full-size installation will be a 16’x24’ wall.

A psuedorandom hole placement algorithm was created to integrate directly in CAD to automate the design process, as the final installation will feature over 48,000 individually drilled holes.
